Warehouse Rug is a hand-tufted rug production studio based in Amsterdam, run by Milo McCafferty and Matteo Weigele. Its focus is on recreating and playing with organically occurring shapes, forms and patterns. In contrast to contemporary designs which utilise tones of grey, beige and white, Warehouse Rug proffers a multifarious, colourful approach to interior decor. The prominent use of earth tones
portrays the pivotal influence of landscapes on both artists’ lives, highlighting the proximate relationship between shape and colour.

Each rug serves as a synergetic piece of furniture, coalescing elements of nature: simplicity, warmth, spontaneity and playfulness. The rugs function in harmony with other furniture by encircling or enveloping; akin to moss finding its way around trees. The core values of Warehouse Rug are nestled in sustainability and a close connection to nature; this is why each carpet is made from discarded, unused fabrics. This process of up-cycling accentuates Warehouse Rug' attempts to work in a pragmatic, environment-friendly manner.
